From Bow to Stern: Resilient Lady

We can barely believe we set sail in only 30 days!!

In this post, we plan to give an overview of our ship, Resilient Lady. Whether you have cruised before or this is your maiden voyage, Virgin does things differently and we love that! Prior to 2025, we had never been on a cruise and Virgin Voyages is what changed that.

The Happenings Cast

Virgin takes a different approach from the traditional cruise director role. Instead, a cast of 12 diverse individuals, each with their own unique roles, provides entertainment, guidance, and fun. We mentioned a few below, but you can find information on the whole cast at VV Insider.

Patsy: The Hostess (Nashville, TN)  - The ship’s singer and the principal mistress of ceremonies. From raising a toast to ringing in the grand celebrations on Scarlet Night, The Hostess is ubiquitous. Expect cheeky comedy and incredible vocal performances during her unique shows.

Aria B. Cassadine: The Diva (Chicago, IL) - The resident drag queen of Resilient Lady. Known for her flamboyant appearances at major ship events, The Diva infuses events like the PJ Party and Scarlet Night with campy fun. Don’t miss intimate cabaret performances during the voyage as well.

Katrina: The Balancer (Orlando, FL) - The wellness expert. Advocating the ‘detox before you retox’ mantra, The Balancer offers yoga classes, group workouts, and even a unique 1980s-themed acrobatics workout in The Manor.

Ryan: The Foodie (Ohio) - The culinary expert of the ship. The Foodie’s events spotlight the ship’s dining and drink offerings. Be it guiding sailors to the best food spots or hosting the ‘Shot for Shot‘ cocktail-making class, The Foodie ensures you know everything there is about the food on board.

Chris: The Spark (Pittsburgh, PA) - The Spark leads a group of influencers and dancers who host a range of events throughout the ship, ensuring every sailor feels included and enjoys the happenings.

Shows and Entertainment

Virgin is known for having great entertainment. Most shows do not require reservations, you just turn up about 15 minutes beforehand and find a seat inside the theater or venue. The only exception is “Another Rose” which is a dinner show that includes drink pairings and costs $50. This can be booked on board but not before. We will share a rough itinerary of activities we plan to do as the trip gets closer, so you can join us if you’d like!

In addition to shows, there are plenty of other day and nighttime activities like drag bingo, casino, karaoke, board games, dancing, stargazing, pickleball, trivia, and more. Check the event line up in your app regularly as more activities will continue to be added as we get close to departure.

Relax and Recharge

For those that want to get a workout in or just relax, Resilient Lady has an awesome gym and pool area called The Athletic Club and Aquatic Club. They are located at the top of the ship on the same level as the Galley. There are eight unique workout areas where you can do your own thing or join a class (sunrise yoga, bungee fitness, HIIT, run club, spinning). Classes can be booked in the app once you connect to the ship’s Wi-Fi. There are two small pools on the same deck with a running track above, and several hot tubs throughout. The spa on deck five is a great place to relax or book a treatment. We liked the 3-hour pass where we could use the thermal suite (sauna, steam room, salt room, mud room, chill pool, and cold plunge).

Staying Connected

We created a Facebook Messenger group chat that we will use for real-time communication during the trip. This will allow us to share any important updates or last minute changes to our plans with the whole group. We will do our best to invite everyone manually, but you can also use this link to find the group and join. The Virgin Voyages app allows messaging between sailors too, but it only works on board when you are connected to the ship Wi-Fi.

Up Next

In our next update we’ll be sharing some last minute tips and tricks we’ve learned about how to make the most of your cruise. We will also publish an itinerary of what we plan to do each day, so you can join us if you’d like. Make sure to check out the FAQ page on the website, we’ve added some more entries recently.
